1950年代くらいまでアントル・ドゥー・メール地区は廉価な半甘口ワインの産地として知られていたようですが、その後白ぶどうから黒ぶどうへの植え替えが進められ、今日では AOC Bordeaux と AOC Bordeaux Supérieur として売られる赤ワインの主要な産出地になっています。
